The Western Balkans is becoming an increasingly important logistics center

Nothing will ever be the same again - said one of the interlocutors of this newsletter, referring to the challenges faced by the global transport and logistics industry. And there are many of them, from disruptions in supply chains, through security cyber threats, to increasingly strict environmental regulations and the current labor shortage that has been going on for years. Political instability, started by the pandemic, continued by wars, inflation, as well as the energy crisis, further complicates the world of logistics and transport.

However, where there are problems, there are also solutions. Companies seek and find ways to automate, optimize and improve the overall logistics and thereby reduce the costs and increase the efficiency and productivity. They have found an ally in this process in new technologies, software, artificial intelligence, which automate the systems of preparing the orders, develop sorting solutions and choose the optimal transport routes. At the same time, they respond to today’s imperative, expressed as “green logistics”, which requires companies to reduce their environmental impact.

The Western Balkans is becoming more and more important for companies that are announcing new logistics and distribution centers, as well as transport lines that connect the region with other continents. The Western Balkans thus becomes a place with serious potential for the development of industry that serves as the driving force of the economy.

These are all topics that we deal with in eKapija`s new special edition newsletter, and together with companies, leaders in this field, we offer solutions for overcoming everyday challenges.
