By 2030, the global logistics market will be worth around $18.23 trillion, with a significant annual growth rate of 10.7% from 2023, according to research by the agency Precedence.

And what will logistics look like in less than six years? The industry is not immune to the changes that have swept the world in recent years. The four trends that we present to you below are already present, and are expected to become more serious in the future. Some of them are influenced by wider trends in the world, such as digitalization, and others by changes in trade.

For example, global returns in e-commerce are estimated to exceed a trillion dollars over the next decade, which will be a major challenge for logistics and transport chains.


Reduction of CO2 emissions

There is no industry left untouched by the green trend. In the transport and logistics industry, it is reflected in the increase in the use of electric vehicles and vehicles that emit less CO2, but also in the use of biodegradable and recyclable packaging, warehouse automation, which will, among other things, reduce losses caused by the accumulation of expired goods.


Autonomous vehicles

Imagine self-driving trucks seamlessly navigating highways, efficiently and safely delivering goods. Optimists believe that this image on the world`s roads will be realized as early as 2030, while pessimists claim that it will take much longer for these vehicles to be common on our roads. However, intelligent vehicles have a huge potential to revolutionize remote transport, offering reduced costs, increased efficiency and improved road safety.


Optimizing "Last Mile" Delivery

The "last mile" of shipping often proves to be the most challenging and expensive part of the journey. Consumers are increasingly demanding, they want fast, accurate and safe delivery, so innovative solutions such as drone deliveries, micro-distribution centers and collaborative delivery networks are being developed in order to optimize the last stage of logistics and improve the comfort for end users.
