Almost 400 km of railways will be reconstructed on the territory of Vojvodina in the coming period, in cooperation with companies from the People's Republic of China. During the last three years, Vojvodina has witnessed the construction and renovation of not only local, regional roads and highways, the construction of the longest tunnel in Serbia (part of the Fruska Gora Corridor), but also serious railway infrastructure that connects Belgrade and Novi Sad with a new, modern high-speed railway in 30 minutes, and by the end of next year all the way to Subotica, as b92.net reports.

Last year, 435 kilometers of railways were permanently abandoned in Vojvodina, including some that "leaned" towards the new high-speed railway (Vrbas - Novi Becej), then the connection with the port city on the Danube (Sombor - Apatin), as well as a lowland railway in good condition that connected two important industrial cities (Zrenjanin - Vrsac).

The reconstruction of the existing Pancevo-Zrenjanin-Coka-Subotica railway is planned, then the railroad from Subotica to Sombor, afterwards from Sombor via Bogojevo to Novi Sad, as well as the railway direction from Vrbas to Sombor, according to b92.net.

In addition to the railroad reconstruction, plan calls for the installation of noise protection panels on all railroads that pass through populated areas.

Reconstruction of the following railway lines is planned: Vrbas - Sombor 53 km, Pancevo - Subotica 200 km, Novi Sad - Bogojevo 77 km and Bogojevo - Sombor - Subotica 93 km.

Currently, 108 km of high-speed rail is being constructed from Novi Sad to Subotica - Kelebija border cross (a continuation of the high-speed rail line from Belgrade to Novi Sad). It is planned to build 12 railway stations, 13 bridges, 31 culverts, 3 uneven crossings, 54 level crossings, 11 underpasses, 27 overpasses, 2 pedestrian and bicycle paths, and the most significant architectural objects are station buildings in Novi Sad and Subotica.
