Pre-Qualification Tender for Expansion of Port of Sremska Mitrovica Published

The Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure has opened the public invitation for the initial selection of contractors for the expansion of the Port of Sremska Mitrovica.

The pre-qualification tender is open until March 7, at noon, and more details can be found HERE.

The works will encompass the reconstruction and construction of the Port, which will have 4 terminals, for dry (agricultural) cargo, liquid cargo, bulk cargo (the existing terminal will be incorporated in the new complex) and a terminal for gravel, sand and rock.

The new port is planned as an open terminal, as an extension of the existing one. Within it, terminals for agricultural products and for the transit transport of oil products and alternative fuels (liquid cargo) are planned, and the existing terminal will be reconstructed to serve for the transit of bulk and solid cargo. The terminal for gravel, sand and rock is planned on the coast of the Sava.

The invitation to the negotiation procedure is expected in the first quarter of 2024, and the works should be completed within 2 years.

The project of the expansion of the Port of Sremska Mitrovica is supported by the World Bank and it is carried out within the Program of the Integrated Development of the Corridors of the Rivers Sava and Drina.

As announced earlier, following the expansion, the ports will have a total capacity for 1.5 million tons of cargo, and the job, according to estimates, is worth over EUR 20 million.
