The second phase of Line 1, on which control geological exploration needs to be done, is 4.72 km long, from km 16+650 to km 21+370 (the end of Line 1). There are five stations, three evacuation-ventilation openings (manholes), an underground facility in Mirijevo for the parking and storage of trains, that is, the maintenance of trains, and six interstation TBM sections, on it.
The manner of the construction of the second phase of Line 1 of the Belgrade Subway, on the section from the Karaburma launch opening to the end of Line 1, entails the use of a tunnel boring machine (TBM).
The main purpose of the documentation, as said, is to determine a precise position and orientation of the contacts of lithological layers in the fault zones, as well as the state and the characteristics of the terrain and the rock masses. It is also necessary to define the geotechnical requirements and recommendations for the construction of the future subway line.
The preparation of the documentation should entail space analysis, 50 meters left and right from the axis of the corridor of the second phase of Line 1 of the subway system.

The new exploration should especially be directed at those parts of the terrain where the underground subway sections and the planned stations, as well as other engineering structures, are planned.

Let us remind that the Draft General Regulation Plan of Rail Systems in Belgrade with Elements of Detailed Development of the 2nd Phase of Line 1 of the Subway was published last year and features a leg toward the Orlovaca Cemetery.
The plan says that the subway line 1 is planned on the following route:
Železnik –– Makiš – Žarkovo – Bele vode – Trgovačka Street – Požeška Street – Park "Banovo brdo" – Ada Ciganlija – Belgrade Fair – Mostar – Sava Square – Republic Square – Skadarlija - Danube – Pančevo Bridge – Karaburma Rail Station – Ada Huja – Karaburma – Mirijevski Blvd – Seventh Belgrade Gymnasium – Mirijevo.
The stations on the additional branch are not listed in the plan, but the graphic shows seven of them: Ace Joksimovića Street, Jablanička Street, Institute, Vidikovac, Labudovo brdo, Petlovo brdo and Orlovača.
Also, considering that the planned depth of the subway on the section of the first phase of Line 1, from the Pancevo Bridge station, has been increased, the section from the Bele Vode station to Mirijevo, 16.7 km long, is planned in a deep tunnel.
According to the previous design, the section from the Pancevo Bridge to Mirijevo was planned in an open excavation.
