Cuckovic: Excavation Works on First Subway Line to Start in 2024, First Works on New Sava Bridge and Tunnel in Spring Too

The city manager of Belgrade, Miroslav Cuckovic, said that the excavation works on the first Belgrade Subway line would begin in 2024 and added that the city was turned to the process which would be rounded out with the construction of the subway system, after several decades of it being discussed.

– We all eagerly await the beginning of the excavation of the first line next year – Cuckovic emphasized.

In the spring of 2024, he added, the works on the construction of the new Sava bridge and the tunnel from the Faculty of Economic to Despota Stefana Blvd are to begin. The city manager assures the public that the works will take two years from the moment they start.

– The city has amended the study on the redirection of the traffic with a new project – Cuckovic added.
