New Hospital of 20,000 m2 to Be Built Next to Padinska Skela Prison – Tender for Preparation of Planning Documentation Published

The Administration for the Execution of Penitentiary Sanctions of the Ministry of Justice has published the tender for the preparation of the detailed regulation plan for the parcel on which the construction of a new facility for the needs of the Special Prison Hospital in Belgrade is planned. The value of this procurement is estimated at RSD 2 million.

The new psychiatric hospital facility should be built on the land of Padinska Skela Prison. In organizational and architectural terms, this facility will be separated from the prison in this location. The facility will be planned for 500 people, with around 20,000 square meters and mostly single-bed cells and the ground floor.

The administrative part is planned on the first upper floor in the central part of the hospital, and the entire complex should be located in as natural an environment as possible in terms of landscaping.

– The Strategy of the Development of the System of the Execution of Penitentiary Sanctions for 2022-2027 defines the goal of improving healthcare in the system of the execution of penitentiary sanctions, and when it comes to mental health care, two components are planned, one of which is infrastructural – the construction of new facilities, whereas the other pertains to the development of specialized programs of treatment for people with mental problems and the training of the medical staff for the implementation of the program – say the tendering documentation.

Bids for the preparation of the planning documentation may be submitted by June 26, 2023.
