According to the official government website, six new control facilities and four road lanes were built - two for bus traffic and two for passenger cars, as well as a complete reconstruction of the terminal and construction of six new asphalt lanes with as much new control facilities.
Vesic added that, in order to reduce traffic to this crossing, he spoke with his Hungarian colleague Janos Lazar about the expansion of the Kelebija border crossing, as well as Backi Breg, which, as he pointed out, is "particularly important to us because of the high-speed road that we will build from the Hungarian border to the border with Romania".
The deadline for the completion of all works at the Horgos border crossing is September this year.
With the reconstruction and expansion from 16 to 24 traffic lanes, the flow capacity will increase by 50%, and in addition to the works on the exit and entrance terminals, the project also includes works on the access section of the highway, which is under the authority of PE Roads of Serbia.
