A Step Closer to Preparation of Project of Bypass Route from Belgrade to Pancevo – CIP Invited to Join Negotiation Procedure on Job Worth EUR 17.8 Million

The PE Roads of Serbia announced, ahead of the New Year, the negotiation procedure for the project for the construction permit for Sector C of the Bypass Route Around Belgrade.

The invitation for the negotiation procedure has been extended to the CIP Institute of Transportation in Belgrade, because, according to the explanation, only CIP has a valid decision from the competent ministry saying that it meets the requirements for obtaining the license for the designing of the mechanical parts of the switches, the railway equipment and the tools for the public railway infrastructures with the connections (P141M4), so only said business entity can provide the services that are the subject of the public procurement procedure, because competition does not exist.

The job has been estimated at RSD 2,083,333,300 (around EUR 17.8 million).

Let us remind that this pertains to the continuation of the construction of the Bypass Route Around Belgrade, that is, the part from Bubanj Potok to Pancevo, which would also include a combined road and rail bridge on the Danube near Vinca.

The authorities have announced on several occasions that they planned to have this section built, and the most recent instance of this was when the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, said so during his New Year’s address.

He said that the Bypass Route Around Belgrade to Bubanj Potok would be completed in 4 to 5 months and that what remained to be done afterwards was Sector C, so as to complete the entire ring around Belgrade.
