The PUE Beogradski metro i voz has published the tender for the preparation of a digital topographic plan for the amended route of Line 2 of the Belgrade Subway. In the old part of the city, from the Sava Square to Slavija, an entirely different route is being considered now, with a great deviation beneath the historical center – a tunnel that would cut through the axis of Kralja Milana Street in the New Palace zone and the route of Kneza Milosa Street beneath the Embassy of Turkey. Behind Slavija, the connection with the suburban railway system (BG Voz) is no longer planned in Makenzijeva Street, in which there will be no new underground rail station either, but near Karadjordje’s Park.

According to eKapija’s unofficial findings, however, not even this solution is entirely certain – alternatively, a rail connection at the underground station Vuk Monument, originally designated for that purpose, is being considered, which would entail even greater changes on the route of the planned second line. According to the technical specification of the job, the consultant Egis Rail has defined a new, more optimal solutions for the section from the Sava Square station to the Grcica Milenka station, prepared in line with the numerous new spatial and planning limitations.

The technical and spatial limitations for the integration of the route of Line 2 on the section from the Sava Square to Grcica Milenka Street are the negative conditions of the NBS for the passing of the tunnel right next to the bank’s building, the negative conditions of the company Serbian Railways Infrastructure on connecting Line 2 with the rainwater collector in Resavska Street and the water tunnel in Slavija, the existing and planned collectors in Juzni Blvd and the newly built facilities and facilities under construction (as per building approvals) in the positions planned for the stations Juzni Blvd and Grcica Milenka.

– For said reason, there is a need for surveying a digital topographic plan of the zone of the subway infrastructure which is not previously encompassed by the surveying of the digital topographic plan – clarifies the PUE Beogradski metro i voz.

The tender is open until January 9.
