OMV and Gazprom sign agreement on South stream

The General Manager of Austrian concern OMV, Gerhard Rois and the head at Gazprom, Alexey Miller signed today an agreement on construction of the Austrian part of the South stream gas pipeline.

It was agreed that Russian gas as of 2017 is delivered to Austria through the South stream.

The agreement was signed even the European Commission resisted it and which pressured Bulgaria to recently give up the construction of the South stream.

- It is an investment in safety of supplying Europe with energy – the OMV head said.

South stream, according to him, completely complies with the European right.
