Valjevo Hospital to Have 24 Facilities and 662 Parking Spaces, and This Is What It Will Look Like After Reconstruction and Extension Worth EUR 110 Million (PHOTO)

The future complex of the General Hospital of Valjevo, following the extension and reconstruction worth EUR 110 million, will consist of a total of 24 facilities instead of the current 15, and the total developed floor area will increase from the current 14,000 m2 to around 18,000 m2.

This is said in the urban project that the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure has put up for a public presentation. The project was prepared by the Institute for Architecture and Urban Planning of Serbia, whereas Set Sabac and BG Arh from Belgrade were in charge of the preliminary design.

According to the project for the complex at 23 Pasterova Street, the facilities of the Russian Hospital, Neurology and Pediatrics, the Rehabilitation Center, the Surgery Block, the Technical Block and the guardhouse are planned for reconstruction and some will be repurposed as well. Neurology and Pediatrics are to be integrated with the departments in the new building of the internal medicine block, whereas one of the reconstructed facilities is to feature infectious diseases and dermatovenerology departments.

The plan includes the construction of 10 new facilities, 5 of which are in the function of treatment (including an underground heated corridor), a kitchen and washing room facility, 2 new guardhouses, 2 infrastructure facilities (a substation, a switchgear) and a water tank.

The new facilities, the Polyclinic, Diagnostics and the Internal Medicine Block, will be built in place of the existing ones, which are to be demolished. The other new facilities, among which are Psychiatry and the kitchen with the washing room, will be built in the free area of the parcel.

The complex will also get new parking spaces, considering that a total of 662 are planned.

Phase-based construction is planned, and the value of the job has been estimated at RSD 12.9 billion, without the VAT (around EUR 110.3 million).
