Business Zones Along North Ring Road Opportunity for Economic Development of Kragujevac – Expansion of Free Zone Sumadija by Five Hectares Planned Too

The forming of new business zones along the North Ring Road, the first of which will be in Cvetojevac, and the expansion of Free Zone Sumadija with a part for motor vehicles are an opportunity for the business development of the City of Kragujevac.

Reinvestments by the existing companies and the arrival of new ones means the creation of jobs, the reduction of the unemployment rate and a better positioning of Kragujevac as a city with a favorable business climate.

The forming of new business zones along the North Ring Road is necessary, considering how filled-out the capacities of the existing ones are, where there is almost not enough space for the realization of bigger infrastructure projects, the City Administration says.

The construction of the first five kilometers of the traffic route that will connect the most important entrance and exit directions in the territory of Kragujevac will create the conditions for the development of a business zone in Cvetojevac, which will spread on around 160 hectares and be fully equipped with infrastructure.

The expansion of Free Zone Sumadija by five hectares, which will get a part for motor vehicles, is planned as well.

The initiative for the expansion of this free zone was launched by the Chinese company Yanfeng, which is oriented toward growth and development since their arrival to Kragujevac in 2019, as confirmed with its reinvestment.

Economic activities in the territory of the city of Kragujevac in the past years have led to a reduction of the number of the unemployed by around 4,500.

A further drop of the unemployment rate is expected in the coming period as well, considering that the opening of new business zones entails new jobs as well.
