Russian-German Plan for Continuation of Reconstruction of Bar Railroad – Reconstruction of 79 Tunnels, 37 Bridges and 20 Stations Planned on Section from Valjevo to Vrbnica

The company Serbian Railways Infrastructure has submitted to the Ministry of Environmental Protection the request for determining the scope and the content of the environmental impact assessment study of the project of the reconstruction of the Belgrade Center-Resnik-Pozega-Vrbnica-Montenegrin state border railroad, the Valjevo-Vrbnica section.

This section is supposed to be fully reconstructed after nearly 5 decades of the commissioning of the Belgrade-Bar railroad.

According to the preliminary project prepared by Deutsche Bahn and ordered by the Russian RZD International, which is the contractor, the reconstruction is planned for the 7th subsection of the route, of a total length of 210 km.

Let us remind that the Resnik-Valjevo section of a total length of 77.6 kilometers was the first phase of the reconstruction of the Belgrade-Bar railroad and that it was completed in 2017.
