Japanese Company Interested in Taking Part in Construction of Reversible Hydro Power Plant Bistrica – Documentation for RHPP of 628 MW Being Prepared

The delegation of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has expressed an interest in cooperating with the state on the new project of the construction of the RHPP Bistrica, announced the Ministry of Mining and Energy.

Minister Dubravka Djedovic said that a special project team had been formed and that, together with representatives of EPS, the preparation of the project-technical documentation would continue.

– Parallel with the preparation of the environmental impact assessment study and the planning, it is important to continue the talks about securing the financing, because this is a big project with a power of 628 MW – she said.

The minister pointed out that the construction of the RHPP Bistrica was a priority project in the Plan of Development of Energy Infrastructure and Energy Efficiency Measures, adopted by the Government of Serbia, and that it would have an important role in Serbia’s efforts to increase the production of energy from renewable sources.

Information about the progress of the works on the construction of the desulfuring facility at the Thermal Power Plant Nikola Tesla A, which will reduce the emissions of harmful gases from this TPP, was exchanged at the meeting.

– Through coordination of all the participants in the project in TENT A, we are looking to have the remaining works be finished as soon as possible and for the project to be realized within the defined deadlines – the minister said.
