Srbijagas to Found Joint Company with Hungarians?

The Government of Serbia has adopted the decision on giving preliminary authorization for the founding of the company SERBHUNGAS d.o.o.

The decision on the founding of this company was adopted by the Supervisory Board of Srbijagas.

– Preliminary authorization for the founding of the company SERBHUNGAS d.o.o. Novi Sad, Republic of Serbia, is given, in line with Decision no. 01-04-35/187-9, which was adopted by the Supervisory Board of the Public Enterprise Srbijagas, Belgrade, at the session held on April 25, 2023 – it is said in the decision of the Government of Serbia.

Although the report from the session of the Supervisory Board of Srbijagas, which has been published on the website of this company, doesn’t say anything about the decision to found a new company, the name that has been given to it leads to the conclusion that it is a joint company with Hungary.

Let us remind that, at the 13th session of the Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation of Serbia and Hungary, the decision on the construction of an oil pipeline from Algyo in Hungary to Novi Sad in Serbia was adopted. This oil pipeline, longer than 100 kilometers, would be built by the Hungarian MOL and the Serbian Transnafta, stated the minister of foreign affairs and trade of Hungary, Peter Szijjarto, as announced by the Government of Serbia.

– Also, a new mixed company will be formed, which will take part in the modernization of the power grid, and we also reached an agreement on building the border crossing Roszke-Horgos on the highway, which would be in line with the most modern European standards – Szijjarto said at the time.
