Slovenians interested in privatization of "Zastava Kamioni"
Slovenian transportation-production company Viator vektor offered joint production of mini-buses, i.e. buses with 30 seats plus 1, to company Zastava Kamioni. These are the buses produced by Viator in the units of former TAM in Maribor and they are intended for city transportation.
According to the information obtained from Zastava Kamioni, the company is analysing the offer of Slovenian company, the acceptance of which would mean that these buses would be first assembled in Kragujevac and then the commencement of production of parts and positions for so-called first installation would follow.
Besides, Viator vektor is also interested in privatization of Zastava’s Trucks Factory. The invitation tender for sale of share of capital in Kamioni (67% of Zastava’s capital and 33% of capital of Italian company Iveco) should be announced until the end of February. If Viator becomes the owner of capital in Kragujevac-based factory, then, in addition to commercial vehicles and buses, the production of armored personnel carriers, which are part of production program of Slovenian company, could also start in Kragujevac.
Viator vektor became majority owner of Zastava’s transportation company Zastava Šped in May 2005.
