Klitschko Inviting Sapic to an Official Visit to Kyiv

The ambassador of Ukraine to Serbia, Volodimir Tolkac, handed over an invitation to the mayor of Belgrade, Aleksandar Sapic, at the Old Palace, on Friday, to visit Kyiv. The invitation was extended officially by the mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, in the spirit of the continued cooperation of the two capital cities, Beoinfo reports.

– The City of Kyiv, which has long historical relations with the City of Belgrade, based on the signed Protocol of Cooperation, is always ready for new joint projects and fruitful cooperation within our future activities. In that sense, I am asking You to consider the possibility of an intensification of the joint work when it comes to exchanging experiences in managing local self-governance, economy, public transport, environmental protection and the strengthening of the ties between the administrations. It would be my honor for You to visit the capital of Ukraine in order for us to consider the ways of developing the cooperation that would bring about new ways of working to the benefit of both cities – says the invitation letter.

For two decades now, Belgrade and Kyiv have had a signed protocol on cooperation, and the two countries have over forty signed agreements on trade, economic cooperation, agriculture and transports. At the meeting, the good relations of Belgrade and Kyiv, based on said protocol, which have resulted in the exchange of experiences in the functioning and development of local self-governments, economic cooperation and management of utility systems, were emphasized.

The possibility of the implementation of humanitarian projects for the Ukrainians in Belgrade was discussed as well.
