International Architectural Contest for Reconstruction on Knezev Arsenal in Kragujevac Opens

The City Administration for Development and Investments of Kragujevac, in cooperation with the Association of Urban Planners of Serbia, has opened an international urban planning-architectural contest for the rehabilitation of the facility of the Military-Technical Institute of Kragujevac.

The aim, according to the documentation, is to recover and regenerate the spatial/cultural-historical unit of the Military-Technical Institute, which has marked the development of the city in the past two centuries.

The final deadline for the submission of works is March 21, 2022, by 1 AM.

If at least five works which meet the terms of the contest are sent within the set deadline, awards in the total amount of RSD 8 million will be handed our (first prize RSD 4 million, second RSD 2 million and third RSD 1 million, plus a buyout fund of RSD 1 million).

The results of the contest will be announced on March 28.

Let us remind that, last spring, the city authorities announced that the popular Knezev Arsenal facility, which is the core of the Military-Technical Institute complex, will become “a town of its own” and a center of creative industries and Industry 4.0, with hospitality, education and cultural features.
