Kragujevac Preparing Contest for Reconstruction and Repurposing of Knezev Arsenal Facility – Center of Creative Industry and Cultural Life

The City of Kragujevac has opened the tender for the organizer of an international urban planning contest for the repurposing of the complex of the Military-Technical Institute in Kragujevac.

The popularly-known Knezev Arsenal facility, which is the core of the complex, will become, as announced by the city authorities last summer, a “small town” unto itself, a center of creative industries and Industry 4.0, with hospitality, education and cultural features.

– The complex on the coast of the Lepenica, which is also a cultural good of remarkable importance, will be reconstructed to the end of bringing back the identity of the center of the industrialization of Serbia to Kragujevac, with the aim of transforming the space into the focal point of the city’s cultural life – says the technical specification of the public procurement.

The subject of the future contest, it is specified, is a preliminary urban planning/architectural design of the unit “Military-Technical Institute in Kragujevac – Zone 1”, with preliminary architectural solutions of facilities and ground floor areas in its core (the “Knezev Arsenal” space), and the service sought through this tender entails professional help in the organization of the contest.

The tender expires on November 15.
