Swedish Companies Interested in Investing in Biomass and Biogas in Serbia

The minister of mining and energy of Serbia, Zorana Mihajlovic, talked today to the newly appointed ambassador of Sweden to Serbia, Annika Ben David, about the two states’ cooperation in the energy and mining sector and in the field of gender of equality and improvement of the position of women.

Mihajlovic pointed out that the ministry had adopted new laws, that it was preparing a strategy for the development of energy until 2050 and a national climate and energy plan, as the foundation for the establishment of a favorable environment for new investments and the process of decarbonization with the aim of having 40% of heating and electrical energy produced from renewable sources by 2040.


Ambassador Annika Ben David pointed out that Sweden strongly supported Serbia on its European integration path and that Swedish companies were interested in investing the mining and energy sector.

– Green transition is very important to us, there’s an interest of our companies in all sectors, especially when it comes to biomass and biogas – said David, according to an announcement published on the ministry’s website.
