The event in Subotica presented the operations of the chamber, the kinds of support, the suppliers initiative which will be held this September, the potentials for cooperation and entry to the German market, the leading fairs in Germany and many other projects of AHK Srbija and the co-organizers of the event, the German Embassy in Belgrade and the Germany Trade & Invest organization, AHK Srbija announced.
Within the event, representatives of the German business delegation visited companies Flender and Techno Coop.
– This event is a symbol of the very close relations between Serbia and Germany. A total of 54 German companies operate in Vojvodina and I am very satisfied that we have an opportunity to talk with business people and representatives of institutions about our cooperation. Our business relations are not just one-way, they are mutual. We will continue advocating an even more intensive economic, cultural and education-technical cooperation – said Frank Aletter, the CEO of AHK Srbija.
Anne-Kristin Piplica, head of the Economic Department of the German Embassy in Belgrade, stated that the economic relations of Germany in Serbia remained very intensive even in the second year of the pandemic.
– Germany is Serbia’s biggest foreign trade partner and foreign trade amounted to EUR 5.3 billion. In Subotica, I noticed the extremely close German-Serbian relations. There are German companies which will leave a mark – Piplica emphasized.
Srdjan Samardzic, a member of the City Council in charge of the economy, explained that numerous German companies were active in Subotica thanks to the favorable geographic position, the closeness of the EU, good infrastructure and the free trade zone, the press release says.
He reminded that the realization of the investment of German company Boysen in Subotica was in progress, which should lead to the employment of around 500 people by 2024, and emphasized that there was cooperation with Germany within the project of protection of biodiversity at Lake Palic and Lake Ludas, which should contribute to environmental protection, development of tourist potentials and economic development.
Following Subotica, the event moved to Novi Sad, and the next stops are Cacak on June 1 and Nis on June 3, where, as the German-Serbian Chamber of Commerce announced, talks about the potentials of even more intensive economic cooperation will continue.
