The facilities for the decoppering of waste solutions and treatment of waste waters within the Elektroliza Bakra (Copper Electrolysis) facility in Bor retrieved 240 tons of copper last year to the Bor Foundry from waste solutions and water. At the current market prices, the copper is worth around USD 2.2 million, Zijin Copper Bor announced.

According to the manager of the copper line at the Elektroliza facility in Bor, Ljubisa Stamenkovic, the decoppering facility “extracted” 170 tons of copper from the solutions and the waste water treatment facility recovered another 70 tons last year.

Since this quantity of cooper is worth around USD 2.2 million, the investment in these facilities has paid off both financially and in terms of environmental protection, according to him.
