– The idea of Arhangel wines dates back to 2016, when Laslo Boni, the owner and the enologist of the DiBonis winery, and I talked about how I could have my own labels as a wine aficionado without his own vineyard, without setting up a winery in a rushed manner – Pavle says for the vino.rs portal.
The remarkable Cabernet Franc Gabriel 2017 won the gold medal at he BeoWine.
At the same event, the amphora wine Uriel 2019, and Orange Muscat Croquant, was presented. According to him, it's a true gift from the gods from the latest vintage.
Pavle Radanovic's credo of the production of red Arhangel wines is: one variety, one year, one barrique. This means that there can be more red varieties of the same vintage, but that the quantity is always one barrique, meaning no coupage and no changes. The bottle features the harvest from that year and what was fermented in the barrique, sometimes with wild yeasts, sometimes not, and the wine is rested in Hungarian oak, with a slight percentage of American oak.
Although he currently stores Syrah from 2016 as well, Pavle and Boni believe that it is not ready to be presented yet, so it will be bottled this year and put on the market in December or in early 2021.
