- After many years they spent measuring the energy of wind, "MK Fintel" and "Vingtim", the foreign companies registered in Belgrade, will start construction of two wind farms in the municipality of Vršac soon - said Bojan Mandić, a member of the Municipal Council.

Mandić said that "MK Fintel" had submitted the appeal to the municipal Department of City Planning for issuing license for construction of wind farms in the villages of Grebenac, Parta and Izbište.

- They will first build two small windmills - "piccolino", for which they already have both energy and building permits. These will be the first windmills in Serbia. They have also finished geo-mechanical testing of the land and signed contracts with the owners of parcels where 52 wind generators of 2.5-3 MW each will be erected - said he.

Mandić added that "Vingtim" had signed contracts with the owners of parcels and that it had been given energy consent for construction of 60 MW wind farm, that is, 24 wind generators, on a cliff of the Zagajica hills, outside protected nature reserve "Deliblatska peščara".

- Municipality of Vršac will be obtaining between 2.5 and 3% of pure produced electric energy per year at European Union's protected price. Also, we will get fixed fee per wind generator, the amount of which is the subject of ongoing negotiations - said he.

Mandić said that the proximity of wind farms would lead to serious engagement of domestic manpower and economy in the collaborative works, as well as construction of new power supply infrastructure.

Miodrag Zlatanović, a representative of "Vingtim", has been examining the potentials of use of wind energy in the municipality of Vršac over the last five years. He anticipates that the works, according to the issued licenses, should commence in 22 months at the latest, but everything depends on the organization by the state.

- Investors find it the most important to know to whom they will sell the produced electric energy, and that is something they don't know in Serbia. According to the regulations, export of energy is possible, but, just like everywhere in the world, the state should offer to purchase that energy - said Zlatanović.

He also pointed to ecological aspect of production of electric energy by means of wind, which was, as he explained, the theme of the recent meeting of the United Nations, due to man's influence on change in climate.

The CEO of company "MK Fintel", Tiziano Giovannetti, said that his company was present in Vršac for more than one year, and that its representatives were satisfied with the results of the research.

- We are in the advanced phase. We have provided all the necessary licenses and ordered the first machines, which will be delivered to Serbia at the beginning of the next year. We are serious investors and we believe in the future of renewable energy sources - said Giovannetti.
