EMS got donation worth 20m EUR from EAR for second phase of construction of long-distance power line Leskovac - Macedonian border
Elektromreža Srbije (EMS) has announced that European Agency for Reconstruction (EAR) will donate 20m EUR for the second phase of construction of long-distance power line that will connect power supply systems of Serbia and Macedonia.
The second phase of construction of long-distance power line from Niš to Macedonian border, of which total length is 140.5 km and total value is 31m EUR, includes construction of 100-kilometer long-distance power line between Leskovac and Macedonian border.
According to the announcement, the first phase of construction of 400 kV long-distance power line from Niš to Macedonian border started in May 2008 and it includes construction of 40.5 kilometers of long-distance power line that will connect the substations of EMS in Niš and Leskovac. For that purpose, EAR set aside 7m EUR.
The donation of European Union, through EAR, for construction of long-distance power line that will connect power supply systems of Serbia and Macedonia amounts to 27m EUR, while the rest of the funds will be provided by EMS, which will finance preparation of documentation, resolving of ownership relations, acquiring of permits and licenses for works, and it will also supervise works.
