Revitalization of hydroelectric power plants on the Drina river finally started - first on list is Hydroelectric Power Plant "Ovčar Banja"

After three months of waiting, revitalization of hydroelectric power plants on the Drina river has finally started. The workers started from Hydroelectric Power Plant "Ovčar Banja". The works should last for one year and the next on the list for rehabilitation is Hydroelectric Power Plant "Međuvršje".

The most difficult works will be the ones on rehabilitation of Hydroelectric Power Plant "Bajina Bašta", which will start in June 2009 and should be finished in 2012.

Vasilije Pavićević, the CEO of PD Drinsko-limske HE, says that Subotica-based company "Sever" is the main contractor for works on revitalization of hydroelectric power plants "Ovčar Banja" and "Međuvršje".

- As far as Hydroelectric Power Plant "Bajina Bašta" is concerned, preparations for revitalization, which were preceded by the tender procedure and signing of the contract with Austrian company "VA Tech Hydro", go as planned - Pavićević added.
