Small Business Center at CCI Kragujevac supporting future entrepreneurs

Fiat workers who have started receiving severance payments, as well as those who lose their jobs in other companies, those already unemployed and those who do work, but intend to switch to a private business may count on the support of the Small Business Center at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia (CCIS) at the Chamber of Commerce of Kragujevac. The center started working on Friday, July 29, and CCIS intends to establish similar centers in other regional Chambers in the period to come.

As the announcement by CCIS says, these centers will provide the legal and financial information to all those who wish to start a private business or improve their operations. The information pertains to regulations, procedures and conditions for getting a company registered, future expenses, subsidies and loans they can apply for, the demands of the market... They will also get advice in defining and developing their entrepreneurial ideas, preparing the business and marketing plan and the appropriate education.

– The centers will also support their interconnecting and connecting with small and large enterprises for the purpose of potential cooperation in production and other areas – says Marko Cadez, president of CCIS.

It is important, as Cadez emphasizes, that the money at their disposal at the moment, whether from severance payments or various programs within the Year of Entrepreneurship, be used in the best possible way, to invest in businesses which will provide livelihood for them and their families. It is also important that they be sure that they have someone to rely on in overcoming challenges in the years to come, in order to secure further growth and development of their operations.

Cadez also mentioned that CCIS was having negotiations with large companies, like Siemens, interested in hiring some of the former Fiat employees.

According to Predrag Lucic, president of CCI Kragujevac, the foundation of the first center is a response of the unified chamber system of Serbia to the need for the development of entrepreneurial ideas and the private sector, as well as to the current events regarding the restructuring in Sumadija and Pomoravlje. It's especially important for people in these regions that the center has started working now that its future clients need it the most, whether they are currently unemployed or in the process of getting laid off.

Fiat is optimizing its operations in line with the market trends, and it has been announced or is expected that the number of employees in Zastava Vozila, Kablovi from Jagodina and Resavica will be reduced within the process of restructuring and reorganization.
