Scientists used the first vaccine against cancer

Vaccine prototype testing is directed at stimulating of T cells of immunology system of patients which have the role of registering and destroying cancer cells in an organism.

Conventional therapies which rely on surgery, chemo and radiotherapy could soon become history – within scientific experiment at the University at Washington in Sent Louis, a complete new approach to treatment of patients suffering from cancer, was conducted.

New treatment with tumor antigens would strengthen immunology system of an individual by stimulating T cells activity whose function is to eliminate cancer cells.

Three patients suffering skin cancer have so far received an experimental therapy. All three patients feel well as for now, researchers say.

This is the first time that scientists described entire tumor DNA and used their findings for identification of seven types of proteins at cancer cells which differ from person to person. Therefore, personalized vaccine which will eliminate cancer cells for every person individually was made.
