Last year, ten Serbian startups attracted a total of USD 92.35 million
Once the publicly available data on the 10 largest investments in Serbian startups in 2021 are collected, one arrives at a figure of USD 92.35 million.
The most money last year, USD 58 million, was collected by the startup Tenderly, which develops platforms for developers, teams and companies that want to build innovative blockchain products.
Another company on the list is Connect the Dots, with USD 15 million raised. They are developing a network intelligence platform that uses artificial intelligence to map and manage business connections.
Right behind is Orgnostic, which is developing a platform for HR analytics, with USD 5 million aised; then All.Art, an online platform where artists can exhibit, research, buy and sell their artwork, with USD 4.5 million; Solrise which has developed 3 products on the Solana blockchain with USD 3.4 million; Kriptomat, a crypto-wallet, with USD 2.5 million.
Anari AI, the first online chip factory on the cloud, dealing with the development of a platform for the use and design of personalized AI chips, secured USD 2 million in the previous year. Trickest, a startup that develops a cloud-based platform for finding weak points in business systems, has raised USD 1.4 million.
The last two companies on the list, Joberty, a platform for advertising jobs in the IT industry and sharing impressions about companies in the ecosystem, and Tapni, which makes smart business cards, secured USD 350,000 and USD 200,000 in investments.
- Currently, we see that in terms of the amount of investments, the startup scene is dominated by those dealing with blockchain technology, a direct indicator that there are quality startups in this vertical, for which we have been recognized globally in the recent years. Although that trend is positive, based on activities in the ecosystem that are aimed at the growth and development of startups and support programs, we expect other verticals to appear on the list of startups with the largest investments - says Natasa Skrbic, program director in charge of the startup ecosystem at the Digital Serbia Initiative - the website Blic reports.
Export of ICT services
In the first five months of 2022, the export of ICT services from Serbia amounted to EUR 951 million, 40.8% more than last year, Prime Minister Ana Brnabic shared on her Twitter account.
Also, the surplus made by that sector in Serbia amounts to EUR 695 million, and that figure is higher by 49.1%.
