US-Serbian startup Sounder raises USD 7.7 million

American-Serbian startup and podcast platform Sounder provided an additional USD 7.7 million from the Series A investment, bringing total startup funding to USD 11.5 million. The new round of funding will enable further tool development and even greater support for the podcast ecosystem.

The Sounder team's plan is to accelerate the development of the way podcasts are monetized and discovered by the audience. For these reasons, the plan is to spend the proceeds as follows:

- building an A + distribution team worldwide: engage podcast fans around the world to help organize and shape the future of sound and audio formats;

- doubling the ML / AI technology: develop and create large-scale Audio Intelligence tools to assist creators of all sizes in being more successful in their craft;

- re-creating solutions for podcast advertising: build a complete ad system that supports publishers and advertisers of all sizes. This should reshape the monetization and placement of commercials in the audio industry.

The focus in the coming period will be on Audio Data Cloud through the improvement of technologies related to transcription, NLP and AI tools, as well as the development of a complete monetizing solution.
