Ball Skiller Developing Innovative Platform for Learning Basketball Technique and Shooting
The Ball Skiller startup is developing a mobile app for learning the basketball technique, focusing on shooting. The plan is to create a 3D “Basketball Library”. This is being done with motion capture equipment with sensors and the Maya 3D program in which the material is eventually processed. This results in quality 3D animations of the basketball technique.
The app will have three shooting programs. The first is the “Analysis” program, where the user, with the help of the instructions in an explainer video, needs to record their own shot. They then upload the video to the app and gets an analysis of the shot with detected mistakes and recommendations for improvement.
The “Build” program offers the possibility of each user going through the 10 most important elements of a shot (shooting keys). Each shooting key consists of a lesson, testing, recommended methods and training to improve the shot.
Finally, “Fix It” is a program of the most common shooting mistakes, which features methods of correcting the mistakes.
The app can be used by all those who want to learn or perfect their shooting, as well as professional coaches and clubs. In the next three months, the first of these programs is expected to become available at Google and App Store. “Build” and “Fix It” will be available by the end of 2020.
Ball Skiller, which is a member of the Science-Technology Park of Belgrade, is open to new partnerships and plans to enter the international market.
