ServerBytes, Serbian WordPress for Video Game Development

ServerBytes is a young local startup, which, from this August, will be one of the 19 startups chosen to operate within the new Science-Technology Park Nis.

As one of the directors, Dejan Dimcic, told us, this Nis-based company, which has developed a platform which facilitates and accelerates the programming of video games for all platforms and consoles, was founded recently, but has been developing for a year now. It has four employees-programmers, but also associates and consultants who are helping the company, as the only one in its field in Serbia, to stay on the right path and be successful.

Dimcic explains for eKapija that ServerBytes is a platform which helps programmers and companies to develop their video games faster, with as little effort as possible.

– We offer a set of ready functionalities in the form of plug-ins. ServerBytes is practically a WordPress for video game development. Programmers can add functionalities as Lego pieces. All the plug-ins are on a single platform and the programmers don't have to use several different solutions – Dimcic explains and adds that the use of this platform shortens the time needed to create a game and, consequently, development costs, which, he says, enables programmers to focus on game development and creativity, while not having to pay attention to infrastructural details.

Our interviewee says that the advantage of the ServerBytes platform is that it offers an unlimited set of plug-ins, which are located in a single place and are available to all users.

– The platform provides a simple option for the development of customized functionalities (plug-ins), in line with programmers' needs. Also, users can share and sell plug-ins in our marketplace – Dimcic says.
