French "Interex" to open three trade centers in Belgrade in 2007, project worth more than 20m EUR
Company "CDE S Interex", which has already opened four trade centers in Serbia and which operates as a part of French trade giant "Intermarché" since it was founded, is going to have another three similar facilities built in our country, all three on the territory of Belgrade.
Speaking about the details of that "greenfield" project, general manager of "CDE S Interex Beograd", Igor Tolstoj, pointed out in the interview for "Ekapija" that the locations for the new trade centers had already been determined, so that one of the facilities would be settled in the very center of the city, one would be located in Novi Beograd, whereas the third would be built on Čukarica.
- We are working very seriously on this project. That means that the works on one of the locations have already commenced, while the papers for opening of other building sites are being organized. Our intention is that the first "Interex" trade center in Belgrade be opened in February and that the last of the three announced be finished by October or November 2007 – Tolstoj explains.
According to his words, this is the investment worth about 7m EUR per each of the aforementioned facilities. Each of the trade centers will have about 4,000 square meters and they will have the offer of goods of wide assortment, everything from food and everyday groceries to car cosmetics and do-it-yourself articles.
- At the moment, we are present in Niš, Zaječar, Čačak and Šabac. The way and the concept which we use to operate there will also be applied in Belgrade. Therefore, our wish is to be as close to the buyer as possible and not to have the buyers going by car to us. Besides, we will continue our interior modesty, which means that there will not be much marble in the facilities in Belgrade, but the prices will be very low and acceptable - said Tolstoj.
He says that company "CDE S Interex Beograd" has pretty ambitious plans for the local market and that their intention is to have about 30 retail facilities in Serbia within next five years.
