Megalomaniac idea still at its beginning - Verano sticks to its intention to build Zira hotel and shopping center featuring tallest tower in the region

(future look of the complex)

Not far away from the Genex building, a multipurpose complex featuring the tallest rotating tower in Serbia was supposed to be built back in 2009.

Verano Tower was planned to be erected in New Belgrade's Block 34, next to the highway.

The construction site is situated in the vicinity of the Belgrade Arena, covering a surface area of 150,000 square meters. According to Projmetal's project from 2009, this complex should comprise business and commercial buildings and a hotel.

This complex would be recognizable for its 50-floor tower which would be the tallest building in the region.

However, no progress has been made in this regard to date. This site currently features a block garage that is going to be torn down to allow for the implementation of aforementioned project.

The seven-floor garage that was acquired by Verano Motors in 2005 has been serving for years now only as an advertising billboard for Peugeot, a make of cars that Verano represents in Serbia.

As Verano Vice President Luka Zivanic told our web portal, they have great ideas for this project, but nothing has been done yet due to lack of funds.

As it was earlier announced by Zivanic, the son of Verano's owner, the plan is to build a Zira hotel and shopping mall on the huge land lot where the garage is situated at the moment. This modern facility would be all covered with glass.

Just like for all other projects, the Verano Group will hire Projmetal to draw designs, execute works, get permits and do all other work related to this project.
