In Salas Nocajski, two kilometers south of Sremska Mitrovica, guests have been enjoying the healing effects of medicinal water from a thermal spring since 2003. Between ten and thirteen thousand visitors take a bath in three thermal swimming pools within Plava Zvezda complex every year. As of next year, after taking a bath, they will also be able to spend a night here, have a rest, or stay for few days.

In this complex, where people enjoy the relaxing hydro-massage bubbles and the heat of a Finnish sauna, another big swimming pool will be built in 2012, as well as an accommodation facility with ten rooms and a wellness center.

- The facility we plan to build will comprise additional hydro-massage pools, a Turkish bath, a salt room, a gym with locker rooms, and a small restaurant. There is already a snack bar within the complex, offering drinks and snacks to visitors – people at Plava Zvezda say for eKapija.

Vladimir Gugl, an architect from Belgrade, is working on this project whose value is close to EUR 500,000.

- If everything goes as planned, the first works are expected to kick off as early as in spring. We are also interested in any form of cooperation with other potential investors, so we could expand our offer and increase the capacities even more – our interlocutors explain.

Enjoying yourself at 39 degrees Centigrade

The indoor swimming pool Plava Zvezda has the dimensions of 12.5 m x 6.5 m x 2.2 m. The temperature of water in this pool is about 33 degrees Centigrade. Those who like it even hotter will feel the benefits of thermal water the best in a hot tub with the water heated to 38 degrees Centigrade.

There is an outdoor circular pool with the diameter of 6.5 m at the very spring. It is surrounded by a space where guests can play table tennis, fusbal or basketball.

Maximum number of bathers in indoor swimming pools at one time is 70, whereas in the summer season, when the outdoor pool is also in operation, that number grows up to 100.

Good for bathing, ideal for drinking

In the period between 1994 and the opening of this swimming pool complex, numerous researches and chemical analyses of the water were conducted to determine its quality and effects on people's health when used for drinking or bathing. The results showed that it produced positive effects in both cases.

A spring with thermal mineral water is located at the depth of 492 meters below the ground, and it produces 7 liters of water (40 degrees Centigrade) per second. This water is much softer than any bottled water available in our market.

The City Health Care Institute in Belgrade has conducted a chemical analysis to show that the exceptional PH value of this water enables normal functioning of kidneys, while its consumption on a regular basis prevents the occurrence of a stone in the urinary tract. It also regulates the excretion of excessive salt from the body, thus positively affecting the blood pressure.

This water contains an optimum amount of sulfur that has a beneficial effect on the skin by cleansing pores and helping the eradication of acne scars and pimples. It is also very good in the treatment of rheumatic diseases - pain in bones, joints and spine.

Seven days a week

Plava Zvezda is open from 12 AM to 12 PM on working days, while its opening hours on Saturday and Sunday are 10 AM - 1 AM.

The price of a ticket is RSD 300 for adults and RSD 200 for children.
