Paradise for golfers in the capital of naive art - Kovacica presents plans for golf course, camping site, bicycle trail
Hunters, fishermen and fans of naive art in Kovacica may soon be joined by golf lovers. If the municipal administration fulfills its plans, visitors of this small town in South Banat will be coming to the banks of the Tamis river and Debeljaca Lakes not only to catch perch, carp and Gibel carp, but also to play the sport with clubs and balls on a grass course.
Wishing to enrich its tourist offer, the capital of naive art in Serbia, situated between Belgrade, Zrenjanin and Vrsac, has offered potential investors to have a 10-hectare golf course built in Kovacica.
With vast areas of different terrain overgrown with low grass by the Tamis river, behind settlements Idvor and Padina, Kovacica has more than favorable natural predispositions for this sport.
- I believe that investors will be interested in investing in a peaceful place like Kovacica, which is, on the other hand, only about fifty minutes of driving away from the capital city of Serbia. We are also close to other major cities where real golf lovers live. According to our estimates, it will take about 12 months to implement the project, and it is up to investors to choose the size of the course to build - Marija Benka Hrjesik, representative of the municipality of Kovacica, says for eKapija.

She adds that the construction of such sports facility would most probably encourage investors to have accompanying tourist facilities built as well, such as restaurants and coffee shops, thus enhancing the tourist offer of Kovacica and enabling the creation of new jobs.
At the Novi Sad Investment Fair - Investexpo, Kovacica also presented a camping site development project envisaging the construction of a park with a small lake, a playground for kids, and a picnic grounds.
It would take about EUR 150,000 and six months to build such complex.
By developing a green area outside the settlement, in the vicinity of Relax recreation center, and by forming an ecological camp, as envisaged by the project, investors would attract another target group - young backpackers and families who love to spend their leisure time in the nature. Having in mind the vicinity of Relax, these tourists may also use the services of the swimming pool, sauna, gym, as well as restaurants.

The municipality of Kovacica has also offered a RSD 3 million project envisaging the construction of bicycle trails, which would solve the problem of unsafe movement of bicyclists who are forced to use roads intended for motor vehicles.
There is also a project envisaging the construction of new bus stops and the renovation of existing ones, worth about RSD 8 million. Bus stops in the municipality of Kovacica are old and in a poor condition. Therefore, it is necessary to renovate them in order to stop making the municipality look bad.
Where to invest
All interested investors who want to open a manufacturing facility in the municipality o Kovacica can either buy or rent a land.
(Kovacica)
It is possible to buy land from private owners, at the starting price of EUR 2.5 per square meter, in the Industrial Zone in Kovacica where somewhat less than 70 hectares are still available, as well as in Crepaja – in zones Do Pruge and Radna Zona 2. About 18 hectares of land are for sale, and investors can create lots that suit their own needs. After buying the land, investors will bear no additional costs – there is no need to pay the building land development fee.
All those who find it more attractive to rent a lot can choose between remaining 7.5 hectares of parcels in Debeljaca or about 4 hectares of lots in Crepaja.
- Financially, we are not a municipality that is strong enough to offer tax reliefs to investors, but that is why we charge minimal public utility taxes. We are excellently connected to all important traffic routes, and the municipality provides free advising and organizes meetings between investors and local businessmen, and I believe we have a plenty to offer – says Marija Benka Hrjesik.
