Belgrade returns legalization money to citizens
- The decision on amendments and supplements to the decision on criteria for determination of the fee for building land consolidation is brought in accord with amendments to the Law on Planning and Construction, the basic amendment to which was to enable additional benefits for citizens in the legalization procedures - said Oliver Glisic, a member of the City Council.
These benefits include a 99% discount on the legalization fee for residential facilities smaller than 100 square meters, that is, 25 square meters per member of the household for the first 100 square meters, and then, for each additional 100 square meters, a 60% discount is allowed, Glisic specified.
He said that over 2,000 legalization agreements had been concluded with the Directorate for Building Land in 2010 and 2011 and pointed out that aforementioned decision stipulated that the citizens who had been brought in an unfair position must get their money back. The primary conditions are as follows: the facility must have been built prior to 11 September 2009, the person who files the request must have acquired the right of ownership of that facility prior to 5 April 2011, and an agreement on the settlement of the building land consolidation fee must be concluded with the Directorate for Building Land prior to 30 June 2012.
