Around 2.6 Million Dwellings Occupied in Serbia – Average Floor Space 74.7 Square Meters
The Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia has published the final results of the 2022 Census of Population, Households and Dwellings in Republic of Serbia, according to which there are 3,613,352 dwellings, whereas the average dwelling in the Republic of Serbia has the floor space of 74.7 m².
Of the total of 3.6 million dwellings, 2,625,711 are occupied, as shown by the data of the Statistical Office in the book “Number and Floor Space of Housing Units”.
The number of occupied business premises is 2,797, whereas the number of premises occupied from necessity is 4,691, and 929 collective dwellings have also been enumerated.
The published data show that 123,584 dwellings are abandoned, whereas 510,258 dwellings are unoccupied.
The number of dwellings used occasionally for vacation and recreation and during seasonal works is 288,883, and there are 64,916 dwellings only for performing work activities.
