Delta Real Estate to build first Bauhaus store in Serbia, worth about €25 million
Companies Delta Real Estate and German Bauhaus signed an agreement today on the construction of the first Bauhaus retail store in Serbia, which will be situated in Block 53 in New Belgrade.
This Bauhaus retail store will be part of the future Delta Park, the biggest retail park in this region, which will be spanning a total of 70,000 square meters.
This retail store will be a do-it–yourself store, spanning over 20,000 square meters, and it will comprise a parking lot for 400 visitors. Customers will be offered more than 120,000 products in the following categories: building materials, sanitary elements, lighting systems, gardening equipment, home products...
(Helmut Divald and Dejan Racic)
Construction works are planned to begin in early 2012, while the facility should be opened in autumn 2012 at the latest.
The agreement on the construction was signed by Delta Holding Development Manager Dejan Racic and Bauhaus Director for International Development Helmut Divald. The agreement was signed in the presence of Deputy Ambassador of Germany to Belgrade Hans-Urlich Zidbek.
According to Mr. Divald, the investment in the first Bauhaus retail store in Serbia will amount to about EUR 25 million and it will enable creation of over 200 jobs.
- The plan is that local people get jobs, which I see as a good news for the economy of Serbia as well – the Bauhaus Director added.
The company Delta Real Estate has provided an appropriate location for the partner in this project.
As Dejan Racic pointed out on the occasion of the agreement signing, the cooperation between Delta Real Estate and Bauhaus is only a proof of the company's decision to bring renowned foreign partners to the market of Serbia.
Bauhaus is one of the leading European companies in the do-it-yourself segment. It has over 200 retail stores in 15 countries and is famous as a company with high environmental standards, which is the reason why it received the prestigious award Salesman of The Year from German customers in 2010.
Bauhaus plans to open few more facilities in Serbia over the next two or three years, primarily in Belgrade, Novi Sad and Nis, and later in smaller towns as well.
