Number of Building Permits Issued in October 21% Higher Than in the Same Month Last Year – Most Construction Activities Located in Srem
In October 2020, 2,944 building permits were issued, presenting the increase of 21% related to October 2019, the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia announced. Out of the total number of permits issued in October 2020, 84% related to buildings and 16% to civil engineering.
When referring only to buildings, 78.6% related to residential buildings and 21.4% to non–residential ones, while regarding civil engineering, the largest number related to pipelines, communication and electric power lines (68.7%).
According to the permits issued in October 2020 in the Republic of Serbia, building of 2,233 dwellings with average area of 72.4 m2 was recorded. Out of the total number of dwellings in new residential buildings, 14.8% of dwellings will be built in single-dwelling buildings, with average area of 140.5 m², and 83.1% of dwellings will be in buildings with three and more dwellings, with significantly smaller average area of 58.4 m².
Anticipated value of works in October 2020 amounted to 81.7% of totally anticipated value of works. Observed by areas, the greatest construction activity is expected in Sremska oblast (35.2%) of totally anticipated value of works, followed by Beogradska oblast (13.1%), Južnobačka oblast (9.5%), and Mačvanska oblast (7.5%), while the shares of other areas are from 0.3% up to 4.5%.
