Surduk's Castle on Danubian cliff - 5m EUR for sport and recreation center
(Model of sports-recreation-tourist center in Surduk)
In early June, on the very cliff, 50 meters above the river, with the beautiful view of the Danube and Banat, a complex of swimming pools, bars and parking lots will be opened as a part of a sports-recreation-tourist center whose construction has been approved by Stara Pazova's Commission for Plans. In case of acquisition of the land in the municipality of Inđija, the center will also comprise a hotel, restaurant complex, indoor swimming pool, pier and marina.
The Project Manager and one of several investors in this center, Darko Mirković, says that the center will be an enjoyable oasis for relaxation, and the location has been chosen thanks to the Spatial Plan made by Stara Pazova, and people decided to have recreational and tourist contents built in that location.
- We did not have to ask anybody. We just bought the lot of about 2 ha and we are now starting construction - says Mirković and explains that his co-investors Marko Milošević and Miljan Đurić from Belgrade are also responsible for construction of a swimming pool in Orašac and the first spa resort in Vrujci, so that the center in Surduk will be similar, but more beautiful and of higher quality. There will be contents for both young and older people, while the sports-recreation-tourist center will be built in phases.
- Complete investment will cost about 5m EUR, and the first phase include investment of 1m EUR. There is an idea that a school center with a boarding house be built in that location within next 10 years, but that is something that will be discussed later - says Darko Mirković who is satisfied with the cooperation between the people in the administrative organs and municipal institutions.
It is true that the investors would be more satisfied if the roads were bit better and if the two-lane road on Inđija's side to Stari Slankamen was paved because the access to the center would be easier. Turntable for buses has already been built within the sports-recreation-tourist center in Surduk, so that investors expect local transportation company Lasta-Srem to show understanding and extend the line from the village to their complex, which would especially suit the young and enable them to come to swimming pools, once they are opened.
Mirković announces that 35 people, catering workers, will be employed this year. According to him, in two or three years, once the project whose conditional name is Dvorac Surdučki (Surduk's Castle) is finished, between 80 and 100 people will be working in it.
