"Infinity" Belgrade - building that changes history, as well as horizons
In all parts of the world, the best and the most durable works of architecture are those that are inspired by their surroundings as their natural part. Inspired by water, which shaped the position, life and soul of Belgrade, top architectural team has designed "Infinity", the new concept of life in the very center of the city, in the borough of Dorćol.
- "Infinity" building in 8 Dobračina Street will become one of the symbols of Belgrade, its authentic spirit, European heritage and global future - claim the authors of this building, which is designed not only to be one of the most beautiful buildings in our capital city, but also to embody its best characteristics and the greatest ambitions.
This authentic building represents the first residential-business facility in Serbia based on "smart house" technology that connects lighting, sound system, household appliances and all other electrical devices into one network.
Project "Infinity" gathers top architects, designers, engineers, horticulturists. "Infinity" comprises six residential-business suites. Each of them occupies one floor, except for the suite on the seventh floor, which is a two-storey suite.
- Having in mind the location, we decided to build luxury apartments in the city center. One apartment per floor, and each of them goes with four parking places. It is necessary for us to study every detail in the apartments and reduce errors to a minimum. We have selected what best suits different people with good taste, specific habits and emotions. All details in the apartment are carefully selected, and they are of top quality, materials and design – Miodrag Mirković, the author and the chief architect of "Infinity" building, told "eKapija".
- The magic is present, but invisible - say the authors.
- The up-to-date technological and architectural solutions make it possible for the space to breath, to radiate heat in winter and Mediterranean freshness in summer, to open towards sunlight, etc. None of this violates the aesthetics uniqueness of this magical place – Mirković points out.
This unique building in the capital city will enable its tenants completely digitalized control over all communication devices, lighting and air conditioning systems, fire protection system, security, and even music.

Smart and energy-efficient home
Modern technology enables designing of an optimal, flexible and integrated system that can be completely adapted to the specific way and style of life, current activities, mood and habits of tenants.
Such technologies make it possible for a family of today to program the variety of work regimes for the systems in a smart home, which can depend on the criteria like relaxation, rational consumption of energy, or safety.
Central control console "touch screen" or remote controllers can be used to control lighting, heating, air conditioning, household appliances, as well as the facility's surveillance system.
The authors paid special attention to heating and ventilation systems.
According to Vasilije Slavić, the graduate mechanical engineer who designed thermo-technical installations, all premises have built-in heating and cooling system that provides full control over temperature, as well as the possibility of creation of flat's own micro-climate.
Floor and wall heating, as well as ceiling and wall cooling, create ideal micro-climatic conditions within the space: appropriate temperature and humidity, plenty of fresh air and peaceful atmosphere.
- During the selection of heating and air-conditioning systems we took care of cosiness, efficiency, esthetics and durability. The concept of floor and wall heating and ceiling and wall cooling will be applied in this facility. The reason why we chose this type of heating and air conditioning is to ensure ideal micro-climatic conditions in the premises, that is, appropriate temperature of air and walls, plenty of fresh air, suitable humidity and peaceful atmosphere without dust. That is why this facility can be said to be a "fresh air" spa resort in the city center during all 365 days a year – Slavić points out.
The building management solution was designed by Dragan Lazić, a professor at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Belgrade.
He points out that the automated building management can cut the electricity bills. In addition, the building will be using renewable energy sources.
- The system will be completely adaptable to the user. Our wish was to create a modern building that can be easily shaped to suit individual needs when it comes to living space. The tenants will be able to set various scenes and bring the atmosphere in accord with their wishes. If the tenant wants an atmosphere for a party, he will set lighting, air conditioning, music, and temperature to "party" scene. Every next time he pushes "party" button, he will get desired atmosphere – Dragan Lazić explains.
Flawless architecture
A big outlet with the window and the entrance facing the street occupies the ground floor, the first floor and the basement of the facility. The garage for passenger vehicles is situated on the underground floors of the facility, which can be accessed via car elevator. All floors are connected to each others by means of stairs and private elevator.
- Our opinion was that the apartment at 100 square meters can not be comfortable, and that is why "Infinity" suites occupy about 240 square meters each.
The street facade is double, covered by quality glass, which only one Dutch company accepted to do. Original glass facade is made of specific material that has, so far, been used only in construction of one hotel and one yachting club. Its role is to prevent noise, as well as to create another ambient because that space will serve as a big jardinere. The idea is that various plants be planted in it. The most imaginative horticulturists are hired to create a Mediterranean oasis of freshness and greenery in the heart of the city.
The research of the structure of urban apartments led the authors to finely balance day and night zones, and create an apartment in which the privacy of each member of the family is as important as the premises where all the family members gather. What is even more important, according to the authors, is the existence of different ambiental zones where every member of the family can find his or her own corner, in accordance with his or her needs and affinities.
Coffee in the most peaceful part of the city
All those who would like "Infinity" to be their home, to drink coffee in the most peaceful corner of the city center - in their living room, to enjoy the surrounding made of top-quality natural materials, wood and marble, and to admire the work of the best interior designers, will be happy to hear that the "show room" where all qualities of future apartments will be on display will be opened soon.
In addition to the guaranteed flawless luxury, future tenants will also enjoy being in the center of all the events in Serbia's capital.
The tenants will be able to walk to a theater, a museum or a coffee shop, and the Bohemian Quarter is also very close to the building. In the vicinity are also the banks of the Sava and the Danube for long walks by the river or recreation on the cycling track.
"Infinity" is situated close to theater for children "Boško Buha", the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, the Kolarac Foundation, the Ethnographic Museum, Serbian Academy of Science and Art. Only five minutes away from "Infinity" are prestigious restaurants, old bohemian cafes, as well as the clubs that make Belgrade's nightlife the most exciting in Europe. The tenants can simply walk to Kalemegdan, while the shopping lovers can find everything they like in the nearby shops with exclusive brands, perfume stores, small stores, and department stores.
