Đivanović to sell remaining six cinemas - property of "Beograd film" on sale

Nikola Đivanović, the owner of "Beograd film", has decided to sell remaining property of this company. Starting yesterday (August 5, 2009), another six cinemas are for sale. Over the last year and half, Đivanović has sold nine facilities of this company for about 22m EUR, and he bought "Beograd film" 2.5 years ago for only 9.2m EUR.

Public ad for sale of cinemas "Zvezda", "Kosmaj", "Odeon", "Sloboda" (bazaar in Zemun), "Avala", "20. oktobar", office space in the studio, and storage bunker on Košutnjak was published in one of daily newspapers yesterday (August 5, 2009). Two smaller facilities with the right on use of land at 25 are in the borough of Zvezdara are also offered for sale. That is, by the way, everything that remained of "Beograd film", once the largest domestic company for production, distribution and projection of movies, which was founded 63 years ago.

- It is true that I said that I would invest money in refurbishment of the cinemas, but nothing has changed in Serbia. The story here is always the same. There are no people in cinemas, and this is not a country that is suitable for investments. I must make profit in some way - Đivanović, who is in real estate business in London, told "Blic".
