10m EUR for "Citadela Terme" - "Integral Energy" plans construction of elite complex in Smederevo

Thanks to 10m EUR worth of investment of company "Integral Energy", Smederevo should obtain modern hotel Aqua-Family-Business Resort "Citadela Terme" on Zlatno Brdo (Golden Hill) at the end of December 2010.

According to the preliminary and main project elaborated by bureau "Arhi Pro", former hotel "Smederevo", which was bought in April 2008 while in bankruptcy, should be reconstructed and an annex should be built. According to the plan, new hotel will have 4 stars and 110 rooms. The complex will comprise restaurants, indoor swimming pool, spa and beauty center, congress hall, while construction of outdoor swimming pools with thermal water and indoor aqua park is in the pipeline.

The hotel will occupy the surface of 2 ha and 92 ares, the existing surface of the facility is 7,500 square meters, while the gross surface after construction of the annex will amount to total of 11,979 square meters. Construction of an annex at 2,000 square meters for thermal pool complex is also in the pipeline.

- Because of the thermal waters, of which temperature ranges between 25 and 31º C, we have broadened the purpose of the hotel. Indoor swimming pools "Terme" within the hotel complex would be filled with aforementioned water, and that would be one step closer to the spa tourism in Serbia - people from "Integral Energy", which runs the investment, told "eKapija".

Adaptation and construction of annex on restaurant "Privredni Klub" are also in the pipeline. That restaurant is situated within hotel "Citadela Terme“ and the plan is that the restaurant operates as one of its profit centers after the reconstruction and construction of the annex.

Company "Integral Energy" currently negotiates with European hotel chain "Falkensteiner Hotels and Residences" about provision of management and consulting services. The company also negotiates with European Bank for Reconstruction and Development about financial aid, through "WeBSECLF" programme, because that institution is interested in investing in the energy efficiency projects like "Citadela Terme". Potential partners in the project are two local banks.

- Once the works on "Citadela terme" are finished, Smederevo and Serbia will get elite tourist complex and offer various kinds of rest and relaxation to different target groups - it is stated in the announcement of company "Integral Energy".

The location in which the hotel is situated is more than attractive. Namely, European Union has openly expressed interest in making the Danube a tourist attraction of European significance. On the other hand, the city of Smederevo is the center of the Danubian region. It is situated about 40 km away from Belgrade, 53 km away from Airport "Nikola Tesla“, and it is on the shortest road to the Braničevo region.
