Loans for tourism development granted to rural households

The Ministry of Economy granted six loans today (July 22, 2009) to rural households in total amount of 53.5m RSD. These loans are intended for development of accommodation and catering capacities.

The State Secretary of Tourism, Goran Petković, told "Beta" agency that the Government of Serbia approved those loans with the repayment period of five years, one-year grace period and annual interest rate of 1%.

- The idea is that we stimulate entrepreneurs and rural households at high-priority tourist destinations to accelerate development of good accommodation capacities for reception of local and foreign guests - said Petković.

The loans are granted for construction and reconstruction of rural households in Aranđelovac, Leskovac, Kalna, Crni Vrh, Bački Petrovac and Belgrade.

It is stipulated by the regulation that the minimum amount of loan is 2m RSD, except for rural households where that census is lower and amounts to 500,000 RSD. The condition is that minimum 50% of required funds be provided by the applicant.
