New partner for Stožice, instead of Belgrade-based "Delta", at end of June
- New partners for construction of sports park Stožice, which should take the place of Belgrade-based company "Delta", will be presented at the end of June - the Mayor of Ljubljana, Zoran Janković, said yesterday (May 26, 2009) to the press.
One year ago, Slovenian company "Grep" signed 242.5m EUR worth of contract with "Delta" for participation in construction of sports park Stožice and a large shopping centre within it.
Aforementioned contract was first changed to be worth 223m EUR, and then its value was cut to 208m EUR because of the various reductions that primarily concerned the size of garage space.
However, "Delta" did not manage to pay the second installment of 19m EUR prior to the deadline, and that is why "Grep" and city of Ljubljana decided to cancel the contract with "Delta" and start seeking new partners.
According to unofficial information in the media, one of possible new partners is Austrian company "Supernova".
The Mayor of Ljubljana said at yesterday's (May 26, 2009) press conference that so-called "day of open doors" would be organized at the end of June in Stožice, where new football stadium was under construction, and that all city representatives and citizens of Ljubljana who wanted to see the building site would be invited to do so.
On that occasion, as Janković explained, new partners for construction of the sports park and accompanying facilities will be presented.
