City of Belgrade selling two Beobanka buildings at Zeleni Venac – Reconstruction of BIGZ and Federal Ministry of Interior buildings
The City of Belgrade has called the sale of two office buildings at Zeleni Venac where Beobanka used to be located, as seen, through a public bidding.
– Belgrade has returned to the map of big investors. In the past few months, a large number of them have shown interest in Beobanka facilities, and, during the summer, the structure and the property documentation were being inspected. We have regained investors' trust, we are open towards them and we are cooperating actively, so we believe that the sale will be successful – pointed out Mayor Sinisa Mali.
He added that he hoped that, due to competition, the price at the public competition would grow, considering that the facilities were the only free location in that attractive part of the city.
After the sale has been completed successfully, the City of Belgrade will form a project team which will cooperate with the investor on getting all the authorizations and permits necessary and in solving other crucial issues, like the access from the New Belgrade side, the parking lot, etc.
In addition to two Beobanka buildings, the revival of other neglected buildings in the city is expected by the end of the year, Beoinfo reports.
– The reconstruction of another two large buildings in the city's center is ahead of us. These are the BIGZ building and the building of the former Federal Ministry of Interior, and we are already actively cooperating with potential investors. Our aim is to revive the neglected locations and for each ruined structure in the city's center to get a new, prettier exterior. We have opened the door of Serbia's capital to investors and started a process which can no longer be stopped – Mali pointed out.
