Tower 168 meters tall to feature hotel, luxury apartments and belvedere - We present you next additions to Belgrade Waterfront complex

Preparations for the construction of 168-meter tower within the Belgrade Waterfront complex have already commenced. Once completed, this tower in the Serbian capital will be the tallest in the Balkans.

The urban design for the area alongside the Sava River designated for the Belgrade Waterfront complex, that is, the cadastral lot 1508/411 in the cadastral community of Savski Venac, will be on public display on the premises of the Belgrade City Administration until March 7th.

Documentation for this project has been prepared by Energoprojekt and DNEC doo New Belgrade, while the U.S. company Skidmore, Owings & Merill LPP (SOM) has authored architectural designs.

As people at Energoprojekt told eKapija, the 168-meter tower will occupy an above ground surface area of 47,000 square meters and have a total of 42 floors. The facility will be multifunctional, featuring a hotel of the highest category, residential units, and a belvedere with a restaurant. The hotel will account for 45% of the total surface area, whereas the rest will be occupied by 222 modern housing units.

The luxury hotel St. Regis will have nine floors and various ancillary facilities. Residential section of the tower will stretch across 26 floors, and buyers will be able to choose between apartments with two, three of four bedrooms. There will also be a parking lot on two levels under the ground, which will be placed at the disposal of hotel guests as well as flat owners.

According to the plan, there will be a square with park areas in front of the tower, and a novelty is that a footbridge will be connecting the tower with the future shopping mall. One of the curiosities is that the number 13 won't be used to mark any floor or flat within the tower in order to avoid jinx.

The contractor for this colossal project has not been appointed yet, and Energoprojekt officials were unable to confirm the expected start date of construction. However, judging by the previous expediteness of the investor, it is likely that the capital city won't have to wait for too long to obtain the tallest tower in the region.

Let us remind that the construction of BW Residences commenced 27 September 2015. The main contractor is Energoprojekt which is to build a facility comprising two towers with a total surface area of 67,500 square meters on the designated building site.
