Greeks gave up huge project - Five-star hotel below Kalemegdan

(Primarily planed project) Huge project of construction of a modern hotel of futuristic look at the location of former Beko plant was given up! Instead of an author stamp, a world famous architect from London, Zaha Hadid below Kalemegdan, there will be a "simple" hotel complex Greek company Lamda development on 100.000 m2

Although primary project, despite numerous speculations, got the green light of the Republic Bureau for protection of monuments, new project de facto is much more like architecture of the old part of Belgrade. According to new data published at the official internet presentation of Lamda, when it comes to the old buildings of "Beko", the main five-floor hall will be kept which will be turned at the central part of the hotel complex of five stars.

Apart from the hotel, within the project, a department store and an office space will be built.
